first attempt at digital animation: school projects
My favourite memories from studying latin were the creative projects. Together with classmates I made 4 animations from 2021 to 2023. While others made the script and recorded voices I was drew all the characters and did the animation and editing. Looking back the visuals were limited as well as the story. The drawings were clearly made using a mousepad in Inkscape. I reused a lot of assets between scenes and animations. The characters are proportioned in such a way that they could remain static in most of the shots. but being 14 at the time I would say it was pretty impressive. I loved being rewarded with good grades for the time and creativity I had put in to these projects.

The second animation about Arria a character from ancient latin literature.

The third animation about the life of Julius Caesar.
In the stories the characters did not take themselves seriously leading to a humorous story still conveying the original plot of the source.

The fourth animation about the fall of Troy.
Even though they didn’t look very complex it still took me around 2 weeks to make each one. We eventually stopped after 4 films Since I was very limited in source material and time to make these. These animations did get a lot of recognition by teachers and the school’s website making me realize the potential of making more professional complex creative animations in the future.
