Short film: Not so little not so German not so boy
This week myself and a costudent at KASK: Antoine Watteau had the task to make a short film inspired by the book ‘the blindfold’ by Siri Hustvedt. On friday all the groups presented their film where we all got valuable feedback for our bigger projects in the second semester. A few months later all films were shown at Kikkerpoelfestival #5.
I had a lot of fun working on this project. All the elements in color were drawn and animated by myself. Since we each used different styles the change in atmosphere is immediately clear. The short film is loosely inspired by a fragment of the book with some alterations in setting to give a more general idea of the mental state of the main character Klaus.
Unlike most groups we chose to work on paper. In total we drew 162 frames that after a coat of fixative had to be scanned and edited together in the final 2 days.
That being said my favorite parts were definitely the mix of art styles and the working in group. Below you can see the full film.
This shortfilm later got shown at Kikkerpoelfestival #5 in january 2026.
