‘Maiden Flight’ hand-drawn digital animation

As a first test using the digital software Krita for animation I made this short film. Each frame is drawn by hand making the process time-consuming but fun. Giving ‘life’ to your drawings, making the audience believe they are seeing a moving image. I decided for this first test to pick something that doesn’t have many moving parts but is still a complicated shape, eventually choosing a biplane as a first test.

The title ‘Maiden flight’ is not a coincidence since this is my first attempt at this type of animation.

As I explain in the end-credits I might make the film longer making, giving it a more interesting story. But I think it succeeds in being a first test making frame by frame animation digitally.
