Character design: QR-agent
Starting from a sketch I had made, QR-agent turned into a costume for an art exhibition at the art academy Mechelen in 2023. Everybody made a costume to preform in during the expo. On the day you would be placed in an octagonal display.

this certainly was a very fun unique experience. Bringing a character I made into the real world.

The back of the costume.
The back included the battery percentage and a wind-up toy key on the back. This made the back side more interesting to look at

In one hand I held a gun/spear like object made of cardboard and papier-mâché like the rest of the costume. I wore dark clothes that day to blend in with the rest of the costume. But I envisioned the robot to have less human like legs and lower torso.

The QR-code is the most eye catching part of the character. In the story I made each of these robots has a different code used for identification. I always thought a QR-code could be used as a face and I think it really works in this case. This way I looked like some kind of walking billboard that you were able to see trough the little windows of the display. You can really use your imagination to derive what this all means.
