first attempt at traditional animation: Zippy
In 2022 I made my first animation using drawn frames instead of digital animation or stop-motion

The animation was based on a character I had designed around 2021 called Zippy this box shaped character on one wheel would be easier to animate than something with legs. Zippy originates from a series of games I designed on scratch which you can find here:

I stopped making scratch games in 2023. Since I have learned everything there reasonable is to learn about the software without pushing it to its limits. I might learn to use Unity or Godot to make new games to learn new skills.
Later I also made a comic about the character Zippy but I haven’t expanded his story since making this animation.

The animation features Zippy driving in front with a scrolling background. Everything was drawn with bold and sharp pencil lines giving a unique look. The video is 30 second and made in Adobe Aftereffects in 12fps.

At 2 times in the animation you can see other characters moving in the back ground fighting enemies.

As of the time I am writing this in 2025, I still own all 43 frames of the animation. It still find impressive how immersive I could make the background with only 6 drawings. This is probably my best work from 2022, it still holds up even though I made it as a 14 year old.
